Consequent to decades of information technology deployment, organizations today have more information at hand than ever before. But in many cases the information is poorly utilized. Many organizations therefore miss out on potent competitive strategies.
Analytics has been successfully used for identifying a firm’s most profitable customers, deciding on the best offer price for a product, accelerating product innovations, optimizing supply chains, identifying key drivers of financial performance etc. Leading organizations in India and abroad have benefitted greatly by leveraging the power of analytics. Competence in analytics has become a critical skill for managers of new age business organizations.
This executive long distance programme (with a residential component at IIMA) would be divided into modules covering among other topics Statistical Modeling, Machine Learning, Financial Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Human Resources Analytics and Operations Analytics. The overall value gained at the end of the programme is expected to build a solid foundation of business analytics.

Course Schedule
- Tuesday & Wednesday – 06:45 pm to 09:45 pm (Two consecutive days of classes held every alternate week)
Mode of Delivery: Virtual Classroom
Eligibility:
- Applicants should be working professionals / self-employed.
- Graduate degree in a relevant subject with 50% marks.
- At least 2 years work experience in a relevant field is desirable.
Pedagogy:
- The teaching approach will be highly interactive using the technological capabilities of the channel. The pedagogy followed for the programme will consist of a blend of lectures, case studies, online lectures, projects, peer to peer learning, self-learning, role play and simulations. Mentoring by faculty and access to learning resources of IIMA will also be made available. There will be two campus component held at IIMA. HGEIL will ensure uninterrupted technical support in conducting online classes, attendance, quizzes, etc.

Faculty
Prof. Arnab Kumar Laha
- Prof. Arnab K Laha has wide ranging interest in statistics and its applications particularly in Business Analytics, Healthcare Analytics, Quality Management and Risk Management. He has published more than 20 papers in national and international journals of repute and has presented papers in more than 40 conferences held in India and abroad. He was featured among India’s best business school professors by Business Today in 2006 and Business India in 2012 and was named as one of the “10 Most Prominent Analytics Academicians in India” by Analytics India Magazine in 2014. He is the convener of the biennial IIMA series of conferences on Advanced Data Analysis, Business Analytics and Intelligence which is held biennially. He is the author of the popular book on analytics “How to Make the Right Decision” published by Penguin-Random House.
- Prof. Laha has been associated with several reputed organizations, both in the private and public sector, as a consultant. He has conducted large number of training programmes and undertaken consultancy work in the fields of business analytics, quality management and risk management. He serves as Faculty-Chairperson of IIMA Executive Education Programmes on these topics.
- Prof. Laha is currently a member of Governing Council of Insurance Information Bureau of India and is also a member of the FICCI Healthcare Committee.
- Prof. Laha takes keen interest in understanding how training can be leveraged to quicken organisational growth. At Genpact he was one of the main architects of a novel learning and skill building initiative for career development of analytics professionals.

- Fee once paid is neither refundable nor transferable towards any other student/program/batch.

- Any extra payment due to any change in any of the applicable taxes during the tenure of the program will have to be borne by the student.
